Microcenter to Host to Atlanta PC Users Group
 “How To Use Windows 7”

John Elliott from the East Cobb Microcenter store (www.microcenter.com) will speak to the Atlanta PC Users Group on Wednesday, June 9, 7:00 PM at the Microcenter store.  The topic will be “How To Use Windows 7.”

Micro Center has 22 stores in 16 states.  The first store opened in Columbus, Ohio in 1979.  Micro Center has 2 stores in Georgia.  The South Cobb store is hosting the June meeting.  The second is located at 2340 Pleasant Hill Road in Duluth at the intersection of Pleasant Hill and Old Norcross.

Mr. Elliott has been a Microcenter employee for 10 years.  He is currently a Technical Support Representative.  His responsibilities are two-fold.  First he is responsible for store IT.   Second he provides technical support for store customers.  In this latter capacity he assists customers in making the right decision before purchase, assists customers after the sale, and advises customers on the course of action needed to correct a problem.  Previously John was involved in software development for various organizations.  He is an Acworth native and former submarine sailor.

Mr. Elliott will address multiple topics including Desktop enhancements, Aero Themes, Gadgets, Windows Search, Data Protection, Security, and Networking.  He expects to take questions on Windows 7 topics.  He will also cover XP virtual machines as part of Windows 7, given that there are a large number of users wanting to "hang on” to XP.

Please note that the June meeting will take place at the South Cobb Microcenter store.  Plan to arrive early and see what the store has to offer.  The Atlanta community is invited to attend.  This event is free and open to everyone.
